Welcome to the website for the Christopher
LaVell Jones Foundation. We are excited to announce on June 15, 2011 the Christopher LaVell Jones Memorial Scholarship for 2011 was presented
to Angelica Wilcher of East Oakland School of The Arts where Christopher was a senior at the time of his passing. This scholarship
will be presented each year to a senior of the graduationg class.
We are equally excited to announce
that preparations are in the making to open The
Christopher LaVell Jones Performing Arts and Life
Enrichment Center. This center will carry on the legacy that at the early age of 17 years old Christopher
left to be carried forward for years to come. As a gifted and self taught musician, Christopher took his gift and shared it
with others in life and will continue to share with others through us in his passing. The mission of the Performing Arts Center will be to assist those who do not have
resources to perfect their craft through music, dance and vocal abilities and art. It will be our desire to emulate what Christopher stood for and to assist and teach as he did and to mentor young
musicians, singers and dancers to become the future.
The mission of the Life
Enrichment Center is to showcase everyday life and to strive for the enrichment of the next generation as
well as generations before us. We will have a mentoring centers, life skill classes, and a library. We will also provide
assistance for those with learning disabilities to assist them in making the transition into general population with their
heads held high. Christopher possessed a great love of education and he shared this love with his family and friends on a
daily basis. Both at home and at school, and we want this love of learning to be a part of everyday life for those who pass
through the walls of The Life Enrichment Center.
